Our Community, Our School, Our Rich History...The Tiger.
The citizens of Jackson voted in favor of the school to be built in an election held on Aug. 13, 1910. Construction began in 1911. While the building was being constructed, classes were held at Lees College. Although the school building wasn't completed until 1912, the institution was actually founded in 1911. This served grades 1-8 until 1916, when Jackson High School began. A separate high school was built in 1928. Then the old elementary school was destroyed by fire Dec. 14, 1965.
We have 400 students K-12 and 2 Pre-k classrooms. Elementary, Middle, and High school academic teams won district competition last year. Middle school and high school also won district this year (elementary competes on March 2nd).
Jackson scored in the 85th percentile on Ky. State testing last year.
